Rise and Read 2023

Rhodes Conf Center-Strickland Building Forsyth Tech 1615 Miller Street, Winston-Salem, NC, United States

On November 7, 2023, Read Write Spell will host our biennial Rise & Read Breakfast fundraiser. This year's keynote speaker is Emily Hanford. Emily Hanford is an award-winning journalist who helped spark a national movement to bring the science of reading to schools with her groundbreaking podcast episode, Hard Words: Why Aren’t Our Kids Being Taught to Read? Emily has traveled the country speaking with educators, caregivers and families, and other stakeholders about literacy instruction, and she will share some of those insights with us. It is important to give back to the community, and there is no greater investment than providing a child with a foundation for success in education. Please join us for Rise & Read 2023 on Tuesday, November 7 at 8 a.m. to help support the work of Read Write Spell in our community. The Reading League North Carolina is a sponsor for this event.
